CINA Foundation
Areas of focus
Integration of Renewables
Solar PV
Optimisation of renewable energy assets
The Team has performed a complete study of the energy system of the National Cement Plant of Haiti CINA, identifying demand patterns, reliability requirements and performing a bottom-up study of the O&M costs, consequence of the deterioration of the plant.
Using commercially available modelling tools, the team has succesfully assessed the optimal techno-economic integration of renewable energy assets (mainly photovoltaic arrays, wind turbines and batteries) to retrofit the operational costs and reduce the final LCOE
Local community inclusion
A study of the local community of Source Matelas has been performed in cooperation with CINA Foundation, with the goal to identify consumption patterns of the urban areas nearby the cement plant.
The electricity demand of the community has then been integrated in the analysis of the energy system of the cement plant, and in the optimization of the required energy assets
Definition of the strategic business goals
In cooperation with the management of the cement plant, several business cases and different logistic scenarios have been investigated.
The local constraints in terms of supply chain and legal restrictions have been taken into account to improve the study to a perfect match between optimal economic, reduction of the emissions and comfort of the client
